01. Special Experience
Stay at a cultural asset
Stand still in the Grand Hall with the morning sun shining through, or gaze at the moon reflected in the pond in the Shoto-en Garden. At Ohana, we offer our guests the unique experience of staying overnight at a cultural asset. Relax and enjoy the flow of time at the residence of the descendant of the feudal lord.
Yanagawa, the city of water
Yanagawa is often called “the city of water,” where the water channels called “horiwari” spread throughout the area, and boats come and go. Here, visitors can enjoy the beauty of each season and the passage of time.
Mihashira Shrine
A branch of Mihashira Shrine enshrines three significant people in Yanagawa: the first lord of the Yanagawa Domain, Tachibana Muneshige; the founder of the Tachibana clan, Bekki Dosetsu; and Muneshige’s wife Ginchiyo. It is located on the premises.
The shrine is dedicated to the “God of Resurrection” and is known to bring victory, fulfillment, and revival to its visitors.
[Guide to the facilities] What we want to pass on to the next 100 years (Open daily from 16:00)
Why has the Tachibana clan continued to reside in Yanagawa since the Edo period? We will provide you with the opportunity to experience the feelings that have been passed down from one house to another as you tour the cultural assets with a guide from Ohana. It may give you a chance to think about the things you have inherited in your life and the things you would like to pass on to the future.
